Nine Suspects

Rookie murder-mystery puzzles

4×4 floor plan · 2 rooms · typical solve time 2–5 minutes

A gentle 4×4 house with two rooms and four people. Perfect for learning how clues, rows, and columns fit together.

How a Rookie case works

A murder has occurred in a house with 2 rooms. 4 people — the suspects and the victim — were each in a different row and a different column of the 4×4 floor plan, exactly like a sudoku. Every suspect gives you one positional clue ("on the carpet", "beside a table", "in front of a window", "in the Kitchen"). Place everyone, find who was alone in a room with the victim, and accuse the murderer.
